Facade and carved trim from a cherry picker
A tall house with carved trim under the eaves and a gable that had not been painted in twenty years. Scaffolding round the whole house would have cost more than the job itself, so we hired a trailer mounted lift and did everything from there.
Cracked boards were replaced, the gable washed and painted with Falu red, and the carved trim got linseed oil paint.
What we did
- Bad boards high on the gable replaced
- Whole gable cleaned and painted
- Carved trim and barge boards painted
- New downpipes, gutters checked

Height and wind. A lift sways in the wind, so we started at six in the morning when it was still and stopped when the wind picked up. The tarpaulin on the lawn meant no paint ended up in the grass.
